What the Perimeter Loop is for the northern end of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Pemberton Loop is for the southern end that’s just as much a diverse gem for bikers and hikers alike.

Taking a wide loop behind the McDowell Mountains, the Pemberton Trail is an excellent start for beginners or anyone looking to take a fast and easy ride through some hills and changing desert terrain. There’s nothing too technical or steep across its 15 mile length, and you can easily make the trip longer or shorter by heading off onto well marked side trails.
