West Fork Trail Hiking
Weaving along the West Fork Creek, this trail is located along 7 miles of Oak Creek Canyon. The path goes straight in and out, so you can make your trip as long or short as you like whether you’re going for a short jaunt in the canyon scenery or an extended walk that lasts the full day.
This trail is one of the most popular in Sedona, to the point where visitors will take dangerous parking spots on the edge of the highway (not recommended) or wait in line for a coveted spot in the lot. It’s easy to see why people would deal with such inconveniences, as the canyon has something to offer for any season— particularly in the summer for a cool hike through a creek filled canyon or when fall comes and the scenery dives into an array of warm colors.
In order to beat the line and grab a secure spot, we’d suggest getting to the trail early in the morning or on a weekday. Prepare for the possibility of a dip in the creek as well, for the trail has around a dozen crossings that only get more tricky the further in you tread
