Young Weekend Getaway
Nestled south of the Mogollon Rim and north of Roosevelt lake is the laid back, out-of-time community of Young. While the road in town is paved, taking a dirt road at some point is required whether you come in from the north or south— with four-wheel drive recommended in case of bad weather. Once in town, you’ll find a pleasant and friendly getaway that blends Arizona’s present and history. While Young has slowly taken in modern conveniences, cattle are still driven through town and the community fully embraces their wild west heritage.
Young is a fantastic spot to relax and unwind. The friendly demeanor of town is free from stress, and the higher elevation as compared to the Phoenix Metro area keeps the weather considerably cooler. The valley and dirt roads around Young are perfect for a day-time excursion by foot, horseback, or ATV, and there are always a few cabins to rent or spots in town to dine when the day is done.
