About Me and The Arizona Bucket List
Jason was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon where he grew up with an appreciation of beautiful scenery and the great outdoors— mainly through excelling in the art of fly fishing catching trophy rainbow trout, pacific salmon and steelhead trout. Ever since, he has fly fished most of the major waterways and streams throughout the western United States and especially across Arizona.
He has a huge passion for the state he’s lived in since 1987 and continues to explore locales off the beaten path, discovering great and new places to fish, hike, mountain bike, and ATV. Jason also has a reputation as a foodie and enjoys traveling around Arizona checking out local food competitions, wine tastings, and farmers markets discovering the latest and greatest tastes his home state has to offer.
The Arizona Bucket List was sparked when Jason realized that Arizona is commonly seen as just a desert state with only a few notable landmarks to talk about; and even many of the state’s locals were often unaware of the beauty and experiences Arizona has to offer away from its more famous tourist attractions in the way of the great outdoors, fantastic places to eat, and outstanding accommodations around the diverse state.
Jason has lived in Eugene, Oregon; Aspen, Colorado; Maui, Hawaii; and settled down in Scottsdale, Arizona. Despite feeling blessed to have spent his life in so many beautiful and engaging places, there is no place he would rather call home than the Grand Canyon state.
