Bear Canyon Lake Kayaking

Another of the spectacular Mogollon Rim lakes, Bear Canyon Lake aptly rests at the bottom of its namesake canyon. No vehicles can access the lake, so this one’s for folks who already own their own kayaks and are willing to hike them in and out for some pristine waters.

Though the area can get pretty busy, Bear Canyon’s somewhat inconvenient access means you’ll only be sharing the waterfront with other dedicated visitors. While most of the shore is rocky, the southern end has grassy meadows for either a calm picnic break or a spot to set up camp before you continue your quiet tour around this gorgeous lake and its shady pines.
