Black Canyon Trail (Black Canyon City, AZ) Mountain Biking

Typically just a view outside your window as you’re going up and down the I-17, Black Canyon City sits between a busy highway and untamed Arizona wilderness. It’s not a place many would think to pull off at for mountain biking, but there’s a vast system of trails just waiting for your enjoyment.

Perhaps the best known of these trails is the aptly named Black Canyon trail, which offers a nearly 80 mile single track experience for advanced bikers that’ll take you through all the changing scenery of the Sonoran Desert to the shady woods of Prescott National Forest. If you don’t feel like taking it all in one day, pack some camping equipment and set up off the trail for the evening before you carry on to finish this worthwhile trip the next day.
