Brown’s Ranch Perimeter Loop Mountain Biking

Up between Scottsdale and Carefree, the northern area of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is a well maintained and varied network of interconnecting trails that you can travel dozens upon dozens of ways without ever taking the exact same route twice, something that’s especially true of the distance you can cover on a bike.

For those who haven’t been to the preserve before, or are looking for a solid way to enjoy it again, then the Perimeter Loop is the way to go. Looping around Brown’s and Granite Mountain, you’ll get a full sense of what these winding and well flowing trails have to offer before looping back past notable landmarks (and great break spots) such as the giant Balanced Rock and the Amphitheater.
