Willow Springs Lake Kayaking

Just down the highway from the turnoff towards Woods Canyon Lake, Willow Springs Lake is the destination you’ll want to hit up if you already own your own kayak. While the lake is fully within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, its size and hooked shape makes for unique sights and experiences across its full perimeter.

While you should expect the usual weekend crowd with parking and the nearest shore, your surroundings get remote and quiet as you put some distance along the shore or across the lake. Dispersed camping is allowed, so a multi-day kayaking and camping trip along the full perimeter of this lake is a recommended and wonderful experience.
