Lookout Mountain Summit Trail Hiking

A shorter trail, Lookout Mountain has everything you need if you’re looking for a smaller and more moderate hike like Piestewa Peak or Camelback without all the crowds that come with them. Though it’s only 0.9 miles in length, the 469 foot elevation gain you’ll have on the way can still provide a brief challenge.

Said challenge is well worth the effort though, as the breath you regain at the top will be snatched back away by the views. The summit looks out over Phoenix and the rest of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, and the short nature of the hike means you can safely make this view even better by coming early or late to catch either sunrise or sunset from the top.
