Lyman Lake Kayaking

Ironically, Big Lake isn’t the biggest lake in the White Mountains. Spanning over 1,500 acres of lake surface, Lyman Lake has no competition as the largest in the region. At an elevation of 6,000 feet, Lyman Lake doesn’t get as cold as other lakes in the winter months, and it’s a comfortable year-round pick that entices both with its size and commodities— as cabins and yurts are available to rent so you can spend your trip at ease.

While Lyman is open to unrestricted motor use, the west end is a no wake zone for the safety of swimmers and paddlers alike, and it’s on this side you’ll find some premiere water for either a shoreline coasting or setting a line to cast from your kayak.
