Luna Lake Kayaking

The easternmost of the White Mountains lakes, Luna Lake sits only miles from the New Mexico border. Much like some other lakes in the region, it’s stocked with trout for any kayakers looking to cast while they paddle.

Fresh mountain scenery, breezy meadows, and an open forest all around the lake will be a familiar but welcome sight to any and all who know the White Mountains. There are plenty of campsites for any who want to make an extended trip out, and the lake’s convenience store near the dam also has boats for rent. Motorized boats are allowed on the water, but you won’t have to worry about them as they’re capped at 10 horsepower.
