Peck’s Lake Kayaking
About a half hour drive from Sedona, Peck’s Lake is a small reservoir fed by the Verde river just on the edge of Clarksdale. While the views here are just as wonderful as many other lakes, it’s the history around this lake that gives some interesting perspective while you paddle.
Surrounded by Tuzigoot National Monument, a three story nearly a thousand years old overlooks the water you’ll be paddling. This U-shaped lake was also once involved with mining operations in nearby Jerome, but restorative efforts have made nature rebound for an impressive success story that you wouldn’t even know occurred based on how pristine the lake is.
