Verde River Kayaking

While this river is increasingly becoming a hub of water recreation, it’s important to keep in mind that water flow is very seasonal. While it’s often little more than a stream winding down the mountains, a variety of factors ranging from rain to snowmelt can turn the Verde into a river full of both whitewater and calm flows.

A trip down the Verde is highly recommended, you just have to make quite a bit of planning for it in regards to knowing water conditions and when and where you’ll enter and exit. Inflatable kayaks are definitely the way to go on a spring trip down the Verde if you don’t have your own equipment, and there are plenty of rental companies to pick from.
