Wasson Peak Hiking
The loop formed between the King Canyon and Hugh Norris trails sees a lot of activity, as it is a moderately challenged 8 mile trek that offers wide views of the Sonoran Desert’s beauty all the way up and down and grants a far, grand look at Tucson once you reach the summit.
These trails are well trafficked, so we’d recommend coming early or on the weekdays in order to get a parking spot. Either trail when you start the loop begins fairly mellow and easy to walk, but the incline slowly but surely increases as you climb to one of the highest points in the Tucson peaks. Along the way, you’ll have wonderful close views of all kinds of wildflowers and wildlife that call these mountains home— along with the glorious sights of the other mountains and Tucson itself once you reach the top. In order to keep the return trip fresh, take the other trail in the loop and enjoy taking the incline down.
