Crescent Lake Kayaking
About two miles north of Big Lake, Crescent Lake offers the same rich taste as a trip to its larger “sister-lake” at about a third of the size.
At about 9,000 feet in elevation, Crescent Lake is one of the highest in the White Mountains. The air here is crisp and cool, and you’ll feel even further at home surrounded by forest and meadows all around the lake. There is no camping allowed at Crescent Lake if you’re looking to make an extended trip, but it’s an easy hop away from camping sites at Big Lake and the local convenience store sells kayak rentals if you don’t have your own. Just be sure to come during the warmer seasons, as Crescent Lake often gets locked behind snow during the winter.
