Florence Coke Ovens ATVing

About an hour southeast of the Phoenix Metro Area, Florence holds an off-roading gem just outside of town. While the beehive shaped coke ovens that give this area its name are on private property and off limits, they provide a distinguishable landmark over the rest of this fun spot.

Aside from the ovens, there’s a lot more to see out here. In the winter months, when a stream flows through a nearby box canyon that provides a wet and cool ride through tall and colorful canyon walls on both sides. Out in the open desert trails, there are abandoned mine shafts to peer into and old cabins that still stand out amongst the beautiful desert scenery that surrounds these great trails.
