High Country Tour Mountain Biking
Rolling along the western side of the San Francisco Peaks and part of the greater Arizona Trail, the High Country Tour certainly lives up to its name. A 17.5 out-and-back style trail takes over 1,700 feet of elevation differences there and back, but the daunting change is made ever so easier by the length it’s extended across.
Winding through high meadows, ponderosa pines, and colorful aspens to a small lake, it’s no wonder that this trail gets to be pretty popular on the weekends—especially when the colors turn. The trail itself is well made and maintained, so you’ll have a smooth ride with breathtaking sights—just be sure to come by when it’s not too crowded.
