Tempe Town Lake Kayaking

Pretty much smack in the middle of the Phoenix Metro Area, Tempe Town Lake is essentially an oasis in the middle of an urban desert. Located right next to Downtown Tempe, this reservoir near the end of the Salt River forms a recreational haven for those not wanting to leave Phoenix for some time on the water.

Only about 2 miles long and 1200 ft at its widest, Tempe Town Lake is a perfect small lake for anyone getting started on their kayaking hobby or just looking for a calm few hours on the water. Being in the heart of the city has great benefits in relaxing after you’re done, or if you’re looking to rent watercraft from one of many rental companies lining the lake’s shores.
